The Rhinomax Experience

An engineering firm that just happens to build campers.

Bespoke. Engineered. Built in small batches by the people who designed them. This is what happens when aerospace-grade engineering meets the Australian outback.

Engineering pedigree

Designed by an aerospace engineer. Built like it matters.

Rhinomax was co-founded by Andy Dean — a mechanical engineer whose career was forged at Rolls-Royce and McDonnell Douglas long before he turned his attention to camper trailers. The discipline that goes into a jet engine doesn't disappear when the project changes. It's still there in every chassis weld, every panel bond, every electrical run.

That's why we describe ourselves as an engineering firm first and a manufacturer second. When Andy designs a Rhinomax, he's not styling a product — he's solving the real problems of taking weight, water, power, and people deep into remote Australia and bringing them all home again.

Engineered loads, not guessed loads

Chassis, suspension, and structural members are sized against calculated load cases — the same first-principles approach Andy applied in aerospace. No overbuilt-by-eye, no underbuilt-by-luck.

EXO structural exoskeleton

A load-sharing frame that ties the chassis, body, and roof into a single stressed structure. It resists the high-frequency fatigue loads of corrugated outback roads — the kind of thing that quietly destroys lesser campers over years.

RhinoSkin composite panels

Up to 30% thicker skins than typical industry panels for superior rigidity, durability, and thermal insulation that supports efficient climate control on hot days and cold nights alike.

Cruisemaster suspension, properly specified

Independent XT and ATX systems matched to the actual ATM and weight distribution of your build — not a one-size-fits-all spec. National service support means help is never far away.

Built for how you adventure

Your dream camper, specified the way you actually travel.

Every Rhinomax is a commissioned build. We don't have stock units sitting on a yard waiting for a buyer — your camper doesn't exist until you order it, and from that moment, it's yours.

The questions we ask aren't about features. They're about how you travel. How long do you want to stay off-grid? Where are you going — the Cape, the Simpson, the Kimberley, the High Country? How many people, what tow vehicle, what's your power budget, what's your water budget? The build follows the answers.

  • Power systems sized to your off-grid range — not a generic spec
  • Water capacity matched to your remote travel plans
  • Layouts for couples, families, or full-time tourers
  • Premium finishes including Italian Nappa leather and Alcantara
  • Custom cabinetry, hardware, and benchtops that feel like home
  • Bunk options on family-friendly platforms
The process

From first conversation to handover day.

It begins in our Sunshine Coast showroom with a one-on-one consultation. We match the platform and specification to your tow vehicle, your sleeping needs, your storage priorities, and the places you plan to explore — before a single panel is cut.

1

Consultation

Tow vehicle, people to sleep, storage, travel style, and where you plan to go.

2

Specification

Electrical, solar, water, appliances, suspension, safety, and technology — engineered to your trip plan.

3

Personalisation

Materials, colours, cabinetry, benchtops, and accessories. The details that make it yours.
