RHINOMAX OWNERS

Circuit Breaker & RCD System Quick Guide

A simple and practical guide to help you locate, understand, and reset the circuit protection systems inside your Rhinomax camper — including manual breakers, automatic breakers, RCDs, and solar isolation switches. For complete system details, download the full Rhinomax User Manual below.

⚡ System Overview

Your Rhinomax camper includes multiple types of electrical protection devices designed to prevent overloads, shorts, and unsafe conditions.

1

Manual Circuit Breakers

Reset manually by pushing the yellow tag back in. Can be used to isolate circuits during troubleshooting. Locations vary by model.

2

Automatic Circuit Breakers

Reset automatically once an overload clears. Used on high-draw or essential circuits across the 12V system.

3

RCDs (Residual Current Devices)

Located inside the external utility cupboard near the 240V inlet. Reset by switching the lever back to ON.

4

Solar Circuit Breakers

Used to isolate solar inputs. Locations depend on model: Defender, Lost Trak, Renegade, Discovery, and more.

☀️ Solar Breaker Locations

Use this table to find the solar isolation breaker for your specific Rhinomax model.

Defender

Located under the rear drawers (remove drawer to access).

Lost Trak 16 & 18.5

Inside the driver’s side overhead cupboards.

Renegade & Discovery

Located in the rear unit cupboard.

🔄 Reset Instructions

Follow these steps to safely restore power.

Resetting a Manual Circuit Breaker
  1. Locate the breaker with the yellow tag.
  2. Inspect appliances and cables for damage.
  3. Push the yellow tag back to the ON position.
  4. Test the circuit using the Rhinomax tablet.
Resetting an RCD
  1. Open the external utility cupboard.
  2. Locate the RCD with the lever in the down (tripped) position.
  3. Switch the lever firmly back to ON.
  4. If it trips again, unplug all appliances and retest.
  5. If still tripping, contact Rhinomax or a licensed electrician.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Common symptoms and what they usually mean.

Red Backlight on Tablet

Indicates overload or short. Turn off circuit → inspect → reset breaker. If fault persists, discontinue use.

No Solar Charging

Check solar breakers are ON. Ensure panels aren’t shaded and plugs are properly connected.

No 240V Supply

Check RCD location in utility cupboard. Reset if tripped. Confirm external power source is active.

⚠️ Safety Notes

Electrical safety is critical — follow these guidelines:

Never bypass circuit protection

Breakers and RCDs exist to protect you and the camper.

Investigate repeated tripping

Persistent faults indicate unsafe conditions — do not ignore.

Isolate power before inspecting wiring

Turn off both 12V and 240V systems before opening panels.
