A: Rhinomax Campers is a premium Australian manufacturer of off-road hybrid campers and caravans, founded on the Sunshine Coast in 2012. Every model is built to handle extreme off-road conditions without compromising comfort or luxury.

Q: Where are Rhinomax campers made?

A: All Rhinomax campers are proudly designed and manufactured in Kunda Park, Queensland, Australia.

Q: What makes Rhinomax different from other off-road camper brands?

A: We combine true off-road performance with ultra-luxury interiors, engineering expertise (our co-founder is a former Rolls-Royce engineer), and a fully Tailor Made approach, so your camper is built to your lifestyle.

Q: What models do you offer?

A: Our range can be broken up into 2 groups, the performance range and the expedition rante.

Our performance campers – The Renegade 12, Discovery 14 and Defender 15 are deisgned to be light weight, feature a pop top roof, and have an emphasis on towability.

Our experdition range – The Lost Trak 16, The Lost Trak 18.5 and Vantage are larger fixed roof off-road hybrid caravans, designed for extended trips off grid.

Q: Can I customise my camper?

A: Yes. Our Tailor Made program allows you to select layouts, interior finishes, upholstery, cabinetry colours, power systems, and more – so no two Rhinomax campers are ever the same.

Q: Do you offer bunk options for families?

A: Yes, our Discovery 14 and Lost Trak 16 models are designed with families in mind and can be fitted with bunks or other child-friendly layouts.

Build Quality & Engineering

Q: What materials are Rhinomax campers built from?

A: We use RhinoSkin composite panels (30% thicker than industry standard) for superior strength and insulation, paired with an EXO exoskeleton frame for unmatched structural integrity.

Q: What suspension do Rhinomax campers use?

A: We fit premium Cruisemaster XT and ATX suspension systems, giving you extreme off-road capability without sacrificing interior space. Unlike some brands, we use widely supported suspension with 40+ service centres across Australia.

Q: What type of chassis do you use?

A: Our performance chassis is completely designed and engineered in house. chassis is engineered by a former Rolls-Royce engineer, designed for maximum strength, rust resistance, and longevity (rated for 70+ years).

Off-Grid Capability

Q: How long can I stay off-grid in a Rhinomax camper?

A: With up to 1,760Ah of lithium battery power, 1100W of roof-mounted solar, and 900W auxiliary input, our campers can keep you off-grid indefinitely, depending on your setup and energy usage.

Q: What cooking and fridge options are available?

A: Our gourmet outdoor kitchens feature stainless steel benches, induction or gas cooktops, a MyCoolman 85L dual-zone fridge/freezer, and optional Weber Q integration. Indoor fridge options range from compact under-bench to full-size.

Q: Do Rhinomax campers come with water storage and filtration?

A: Yes. Our systems include multiple fresh water tanks, hot/cold plumbed water, and advanced filtration for safe drinking water anywhere in Australia.

Comfort & Luxury

Q: What interior finishes are available?

A: Options include Italian Nappa leather seating, Alcantara lining, high-gloss metallic cabinetry, and bespoke upholstery. Each interior is handcrafted for a luxury automotive feel. Learn more about the Tailor Made program here

Q: Do the campers include bathrooms?

A: Yes. Depending on your model, you can choose between an ensuite with a composting or cassette toilet, pressurised hot/cold shower, and optional washing machine.

Q: Are the campers dustproof and waterproof?

A: Absolutely. Our campers use custom-engineered doors and hatches that are 100% dustproof and waterproof – no pressurisation system required.

Technology & Electrical

Q: What power systems do you use?

A: All Rhinomax campers feature marine-grade Victron Energy components paired with our custom lithium battery systems and our custom RM Command center – built on German Marine Tech. We also offer the CZone smart automation (the same system found on multimillion-dollar yachts) in our Vantage edition as standard.

Q: Can I run high-power appliances like air conditioning, induction cooktops, or coffee machines?

A: Yes. With our large-capacity lithium systems and inverters, you can run household-level appliances off-grid with ease.

Q: Do the campers include entertainment systems?

A: Yes. We use Fusion marine-grade audio systems with optional smart TV integration for high-definition audio and streaming anywhere.

Practicality & Towing

Q: How wide are your campers?

A: Our Performance Hybrid models — the Defender, Discovery, and Renegade — measure 1,970mm wide. The Expedition range (Lost Trak models) are slightly wider at 2,100mm, giving you extra interior space while still being compact enough for narrow tracks, urban streets, and car parks.

 

Q: What vehicles can tow a Rhinomax camper?

A: Our campers are designed to match popular touring vehicles such as the Toyota LandCruiser 300, Ineos Grenadier, Ford Ranger, and similar 4WDs. Towing weights vary by model — contact us for exact specs.

Q: How long does it take to set up camp?

A: Most setups can be completed in minutes. With automatic awnings, plumbed water, and modular kitchens, Rhinomax campers are designed for convenience and ease of use.

Q: How do I order a Rhinomax camper?

A: The process starts with a showroom deposit, followed by the remainder of the 10% deposit within 7 days. From there, we work with you to design and build your Tailor Made camper.

Q: What is the wait time for a new camper?

A: Lead times vary depending on production schedule and customisation, typically ranging from 6 to 12 months.

Q: Do you offer servicing and support?

A: Yes. We provide ongoing support from our Sunshine Coast HQ, and our use of Cruisemaster, Victron, and other well-supported components means parts and servicing are readily available across Australia.
