When did caravans start to be known as campers?

Caravans are caravans and campers are campers!

We think of caravans as much bigger, heavier and internally orientated vans, suited much more for the on road travellers and caravan parks where you can plug in.

Campers provide more outdoor living facilities, like your external kitchen areas and fridges, and are suited to those who prefer more of a “camping experience” with full off grid set ups so you can leave the crowds behind.
